BACALAITOS AMAPOLA

Bacalaitos Amapola
INGREDIENTS
  • ½ cup of dried codfish
  • 1 ½ cups of Amapola All Purpose Flour
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 ½ cups of water
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 3 sweet peppers
  • (all crushed in the mortar)
  • 1 package of seasoning with annatto (achiote)

HOW TO PREPARE

1. Place the cod in water for 2-3 hours. Remove the bones and skin, then shred it.

2. Mix the flour, salt, baking powder and water. Add garlic, pepper, bell peppers and green pepper, crushed. Drain cod well and add to the mixture.

3. Fry in abundant hot oil or butter. Reduce the heat to moderate until the bacalaito looks golden. Remove them from the oil and drain on absorbent paper.
